Omorphi
Coming October, 2013
From Harmony Ink Press!
From Harmony Ink Press!
I am excited to announce that Harmony Ink Press will publish Omorphi in September or October 2013! This announcement is particularly special for a couple of reasons.
I received news that Harmony Ink Press accepted Omorphi for publication during the one-year anniversary celebration of my novella, Safe, on April 13th. It goes without saying that I was ecstatic and it took every ounce of strength that I possessed not to announce that I’d signed Omorphi’s contract during the celebration. I didn't want to detract from Safe's one-year anniversary celebration and the wonderful fellow authors, fans, and readers who joined in and made the celebration a terrific success.
The story in Omorphi is one of finding first love and the strength to heal after enduring abuse, a journey that can take a lifetime, and how one young man’s love for another guides the way.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. To have received news that Harmony Ink Press accepted Omorphi during this month makes the news all that much more extraordinary.
Last, but certainly not least, it is an honor to become part of the Dreamspinner - Harmony Ink family. Woot!
Drum roll, please. Wait... Wait for it... COVER REVEAL!

Michael led a charmed life. He had great parents who were cool with him being gay, a straight best friend who was like a brother to him, and plans to attend Oxford University on an athletic scholarship. The only thing missing from his life was a boyfriend. A pretty one. That’s exactly what he found the morning he bumped into Christy. But nothing, not even Michael’s wildest dreams, could have prepared him for what came with Christy.
Christy knew he was broken. He needed to heal and knew he needed help to do it. So, he made a plan. A plan to go where no one knew who he was, or what had been done to him. And it almost worked.
Very cool. So pleased for you
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pamela! I am excited! I hope you enjoy the story!
DeleteCan't wait to read this. YA needs some shaking up and this sounds like it's a mover and a shaker :) Terrific news you are with DSP/Harmony Ink. Oh, and that cover is fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Kazzak!
DeleteOmorphi is a romance that builds into a face-paced, action-packed adventure and is certain to raise a brow or two!
To become part of the Dreamspinner/Harmony Ink family is the highest of honors. More importantly, join me in lauding DSP/Harmony for the courage and willingness to publish stories containing the edgy, gritty issues that youths face today. My hat's off to DSP/Harmony Ink!
Incredibly talented artist, Reese Dante, created Omorphi’s cover art. It takes a very special artist to bring an author’s imagination to life from a few words thrown at a questionnaire and a couple of (or many) emails and Reese is no exception. She is also a good and careful listener and patient beyond reason. We had a few humorous moments. You say potato, I say potahto. If there is ever a test of an author’s ability to articulate, it’s communicating what he or she wants to see in a book cover. The effort will force any author to choose his or her words carefully. My hat’s off to a true visionary and an awesome soul! You rock, Reese!

From reading this excerpt, I can tell that Cody will be pushing the envelope into new territory of YA, just as he did in his novella, SAFE. I expect to learn alot about the life and trials of teenaged GLBT through Cody's eyes. I hope that Michael is the champion that he sounds like in the excerpt. Keep writing, Cody, your voice is very important for the youth. I can't wait for the next excerpt!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your enthusiastic comments and compliments, Kerry. I hope you enjoy Omorphi as much as you did Safe and look forward to your comments after you read it. Drop by again soon!
