Welcome to the 2014 Timmy Awards!

The Timmy Award is presented in recognition of outstanding achievement in a particular field of authorship. Only books that I read or reviewed in 2014 qualify, and each category is judged solely by me. No book can win first place in more than one category. This restriction can mean that another book or books may have qualified for first place in a certain category, but I wanted each book to have a fair and equitable opportunity to be recognized and didn't want the awards weighted by any one book.

The original categories were announced in December, 2014. Alas, not enough poems qualified for the Most Inspirational Poem category and it has been removed from this year's ceremony. Similarly, categories have been added to accommodate recognition of outstanding achievement in other fields of authorship.

Without further ado, the Timmy Awards go to...

2014 Timmy Awards!

Inspiration AwardA Note from Cody:

The amount of time and effort Timmy put into these awards and this ceremony would astound you and, at one point, he almost called it off. Not because of any lack of interest or complication, but because of the sheer frustration of having to favor one story over another. Thanks to you, he read a plethora of incredible books this year. A major event like this wouldn't be complete without a few grumbles along the way. Brilliant young man that he is, when I refused to permit him to give Slaying Isidore's Dragons an award because it isn't published yet, he simply made a Best Beta Read category. *outsmarted again* Please join me in thanking and honoring our Master of Ceremonies for his time, extraordinary efforts, and ingenuity by honoring him with the 2014 Inspiration Award! Well done, Timmy!

    1. It was really hard. I had to put aside my friendships with people and only look at the books themselves. I was worried that would upset some people, but I've been lucky so far. Everyone has been real supportive of me.

  8. First to all the authors mentioned here, Congratulations on becoming the first winners of Timmy Awards! And Timmy, wow! I'm sure there was so much behind the scenes things we don't even know about! I've been following your reviews so so some of the winners were no surprise.. What was the most difficult part of this whole process? And what was the most fun? You have been a busy young man over the winter break. I hope you had the best Christmas! I think 2015 is going to be a great year for you! Cannot wait for more reviews, your art, your humor, well...just more YOU! ❤️❤️❤️

    1. The most difficult part was having to choose some books over the other. I don't like the idea that someone may get there feelings hurt. I also had a great fear that some of my friends would be disappointed if they didn't get an award, or the one they wanted. I had to really disassociate myself from my friends and ONLY look at the books and my reviews. I pride myself on being fair and giving fair reviews, so the awards needed the same treatment.
The most fun ways talking to all the people after the awards were released. Every one was so supportive and great! <3
Thank you so much Kari! Love spending time with you on Koti's blog.

    2. I can certainly understand not wanting to hurt or disappoint your friends. But what a great advise about disassociating yourself from the people and just focus on the books. Thanks to Cody and Mel for helping you out. Timmy, you certainly put a smile on my face. And I really needed to smile. ❤️

  9. Wow. This is awesome Timmy. Very professional. What a great job! I could not do this with my 2014 Reads. If it's okay, I will make note of these categories and try to do it with my reads this year as I go through the year. I might be able to do it that way! Here's to 2015; let's all go forth and READ!
